2017 Thanksgiving Dinner

President Becki Farley welcomed members and guest to the Delaware County Historical Societies 41st Annual Thanksgiving dinner on Veteran’s Day, November 11th, 2017 at the First Baptist Church in Jay, Oklahoma. The program began with a prayer and the leading of our flag salute by Les Newkirk and Whitney Farley performed for us a beautiful rendition of the National Anthem.

The members brought something for the potluck lunch and everyone enjoyed turkey, ham, chicken and all the fixins’ of a traditional Thanksgiving feast. While we enjoyed the meal Leah Jo Morgan, Secretary, presented the business meeting. Oklahoma State Representative Josh West was our engaging speaker who talked about his personal military service and experiences. John Stevenson then presented awards as follows:

Volunteer of the Year Award went to Dustin Holland, in appreciation for Outstanding and Dedicated Service and Support to the Delaware County Historical Society and Mariee Wallace Museum.
